Make Your Visit to Utah More Fun With These Activities

When you think about Utah, what comes to mind is the Red Mountains in Washington County. The mountain range is home to many Hollywood films, which is why it’s the most popular image of Utah. Still, Utah is actually a massive winter attraction. It’s also a popular destination for those who love extreme sports.

If you live in Utah and send your child to an excellent middle school in Salt Lake City, you’re in luck. It means that you’re surrounded by the jaw-dropping natural wonders of Utah. It also means that you get to see and experience some of the best ski resorts in the world. Don’t take it for granted. But for tourists who are not yet aware of the potentially unforgettable experiences that you can have in Utah, here are the things that you should not miss:

Skiing

As mentioned above, Salt Lake City is home to some of the best ski resorts in the world. There are at least three major ski resorts that you can visit. They offer ski slopes for beginners, intermediates, and experts. Nicknamed as the Ski City, Salt Lake City’s famous slopes will thrill and entice you.

Hiking

Utah houses five of America’s most popular national parks: Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches. If you are looking for cheap thrills, you can put on your hiking gear, secure a permit from the parks’ authorities, and hike through Utah’s scenic trails. The massive red-walled canyons and sandstone spires make hiking in Utah an experience like no other.

Temple Square

This place is the official headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This secured location is at the heart of Salt Lake City. You can marvel at its gorgeous religious architecture. You can go visit the Salt Lake Temple and the gardens and sculptures that surround it. Immersing yourself in such a religious setting will calm your spirit.

Craft Breweries

Do you know that Utah has a rich brewery culture? Utah’s breweries have won several awards at the annual Great American Beer Festival that takes place every October. Just this year, local brewery Shades Brewing earned gold at the 2019 annual festival. Several other breweries took home prizes, too. So if you’re a fan of breweries, better pack your bags and head to Utah.

Utah Olympic Park

Do you want to experience how it feels to be an Olympic athlete? Head over to the Utah Olympic Park. It was built for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Since then, it has been used as a community center of some sort. You can do loads of activities such as rock climbing, extreme tubing, bobsledding, zip-lining, and ski jumping. There’s an activity for everyone, from beginners to thrill-seekers.

Food and Shopping

Finally, what’s a vacation without food and shopping. Although Utah is not exactly a culinary destination, it offers fantastic restaurants that cater to all taste buds. Do you want sushi? Even if Utah has no access to the ocean, the sushi restaurants have great options. At the Historic Park City, there are great mom-and-pop shops where you can get souvenirs from.

Driving through Utah is scenic enough. How much more impressed will you be if you have time to visit one of these places? A day or two won’t be enough to experience everything this city has to offer. Make sure to have at least five days to truly immerse yourself in Utah’s magical and scenic places.
