Nothing is more nerve-wracking to students than a big test. Even now that you’re studying and practicing for a CompTIA certification exam, you might think of taking an exam as a huge hurdle to clear. It also doesn’t help that you get to feel more and more anxious the more you prepare for it and get closer to the date. Relieve yourself of the stress and boost your confidence with these pointers:
Rest and Recover
Always pushing yourself to the limit will not do you any good. You need to rest once in a while and allow both your body and mind to relax. If you’re already feeling tired or sleepy, then heed your body’s warning and sleep or nap. Doing this can both help your brain to store information and work at processing it better. Don’t force yourself when you’re sick, either, and give yourself time to recover from your illness. You can always take the certification exam at a time other than the one you have planned, but it will be hard to get back your good health when you have lost it.
Hit the Brakes
In relation to the previous point, overworking and succumbing to pressure will just make matters worse for you in the end. Avoid burnout by putting down your book or other CompTIA Network+ N10-007 exam practice material when you feel like your brain is about to explode. Give yourself a well-deserved break by doing an activity other than intensive study for a few minutes. You can rest your eyes on beautiful scenery, take a walk, or even play a short game. It doesn’t matter whether it’s long or short as long as you give yourself time for your mind to collect itself.
Eat Food
People tend to skip eating to allot more time to study, but in the long run, this practice is detrimental to both their good health and achievement of their goals. You use your brain when you study, and just like the other parts of your body, it needs fuel in the form of the food that you eat. If you don’t eat, you’ll be unable to think properly. If you don’t have the time to cook, which is understandable given the circumstances, you can just go dial the number of fast-food joints in your area or ask someone to cook for you. Keep in mind that you’ll still need to have your regular dose of vitamins and minerals, so try to eat fruits and vegetables whenever you can.
Whatever shape or form your exam may take, preparation is the key to succeeding. Other than studying and taking practice tests, you also need to take care of yourself and not forget to rest and eat. Don’t push yourself too much, or you’ll break. Drawing a blank is the last thing that you want to happen during an exam, so calm yourself down and take it easy. If you don’t think that you’ll be able to take it this year, then you can always do so next time.
